NEW: Hunter Biden to Sue Fox for Defamation, Use of 'Hacked Intimate Images'

Lawyers for Hunter Biden plan to sue Fox News “imminently,” according to a letter sent to the network and obtained by NBC News.

The letter, dated April 23, puts the Fox News Channel and Fox News Digital on notice for litigation claims arising from the network’s alleged “conspiracy and subsequent actions to defame Mr. Biden and paint him in a false light, the unlicensed commercial exploitation of his image, name, and likeness, and the unlawful publication of hacked intimate images of him.”

'Hacked'? That's the first problem with this claim. Those images weren't hacked -- they were left on a device that Biden abandoned, becoming the property of the repair shop as a result. That's why you don't abandon such devices, especially with that kind of content.

Furthermore, Hunter Biden is a public figure, and the records of his business dealings with foreign entities are a legitimate public-interest issue. At the very least, "defamation" has to establish knowingly false reporting as a bare minimum (plus overcoming the Sullivan threshold in Hunter's case); does Hunter really want to litigate that in court?
