Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is launching a Senate bid, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The anti-Trump Republican is expected to file for the open Senate seat on Friday, the last day of the filing deadline.

If true, it's a good recruitment for the NRSC. The populist grassroots will hate it, but Maryland is not MAGA country either. Hogan is as conservative a person who could win in that state, and even then it will be a heavy lift.
