Former Trump administration official Mike Gill passed away days after he was shot during a carjacking spree in Washington, D.C., his wife said.
Gill, a married father of three who served as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission chief of staff under former President Donald Trump, passed away after he was shot Monday in downtown D.C., his wife, Kristina Gill, told Fox 5 DC on Saturday.
“His sudden departure has left a void in our lives that can never be filled,” she said.
Mike Gill was sitting in his car Monday when suspect Artell Cunningham, 28, entered his vehicle and shot him shortly before 6 p.m., police said. Officials said Cunningham attempted to steal another vehicle later in the evening and approached other people and demanded their keys.
