Fani: Wade's Wife Is 'Obstructing and Interfering' With RICO Prosecution

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported a motion filed on Willis’ behalf arguing that Jocelyn Wade, the wife of Nathan Wade, “has conspired with interested parties in the criminal election interference case to use the civil discovery process to annoy, embarrass and oppress District Attorney Willis.”

She added that Wade is also “obstructing and interfering with an ongoing criminal prosecution.”

The filing states that the Wades’ marriage was “ irretrievably broken” and that there is no hope for a reconciliation. As a result, a deposition by Willis is not needed to resolve the divorce case.

[This takes some chutzpah. Recall that Jocelyn Wade didn’t initiate the divorce proceeding in the first place, but is instead defending herself against Nathan Wade’s petition. Mrs. Wade subpoenaed Willis because Mrs Wade apparently has some reason to believe that Willis has something to do with the end of their marriage. Note in the motion that Willis asserts that Mrs. Wade’s alleged infidelity drove the action, but never ever answers the question as to whether Willis and Wade also had an affair. To some extent, this may be closing the barn door after the horse has already bolted, though. Judge McAfee will not be put off by this filing, and will demand a direct answer as to any romantic relationship that existed when Willis hired Wade and then paid him more than $650,000. — Ed]
