CBS’s Stephen Colbert continued his holy war against Speaker Mike Johnson on the Thursday edition of The Late Show when he welcomed Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and wondered how he could possibly deal with the “awful” new Speaker.

After conceding that he is “a fan of Joe Biden” and his infrastructure bills, Colbert shifted to Johnson, “When we last talked Mike Johnson was not Speaker of the House. Now Mike Johnson is Speaker of the House. His record on LGBTQ issues is, what’s the word, awful.”

Colbert then asked, “So how do you work with a guy who argued that same-sex relations are quote ‘the dark harbinger of chaos and sexual anarchy that could doom even the strongest republic’?”
