Newsom: I won't run against Biden -- or Harris

When asked if for some reason Biden doesn’t end up running for president, Newsom answered that Vice President Kamala Harris is the one who is “naturally lined up” for the job….

When asked if he would consider a run against Harris, Newsom said, “Of course not. By definition. Won’t happen.”

[The Kamala Problem continues for Democrats. If Biden can’t answer the bell, they *have* to run Kamala or risk a complete identity-politics meltdown in the party. Any white male who runs against her in a primary will get pilloried as a racist, or at the very least a “privileged” figure encroaching on a black woman’s access to power. Newsom may not be the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, but he certainly understands this dynamic, especially after stiffing Karen Bass by appointing Alex Padilla to Harris’ term in the Senate. — Ed]
