RIP Jimmy Buffet

Jimmy Buffet, R.I.P.
He’s got his Hush Puppies on, and never was meant for glitter rock ‘n roll.

Jimmy Buffet passed away overnight at age 76, his family announced:

Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st, surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs.

He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.

That was the thing about him, he embodied a carefree beach lifestyle whose songs allowed people a mental escape. He’s best known for his song Margaritaville.

[The professor found a great clip of Buffet in Jurassic World that just cute as a button. I was never a huge fan although I have always found his music really pleasant and I live in Parrot Head central. His sister LuLu owns a very well regarded restaurant a little way from us on the intracoastal. In its original spot on Weeks Bay, AL – a broke-down fishcamp out in the middle of nowhere with poles, tents and a racketly building – Buffet used to show up and take over what was their stage for impromptu concerts and sing-alongs with whoever was there. How word would get out before cellphones were big that he was there, I have no idea, but it wasn’t long that the road into the park was backed up and the place would be packed. It’s rare someone’s known for just being chill and that’s pretty cool. I know the margaritas and cervesas are cold in Heaven. ~ Beege]
