Florida-based Christopher Kise has filed a notice of appearance as Trump’s lawyer in the classified documents case. Kise, a former Florida solicitor general, practices in the state’s Southern District.

Kise also previously served on DeSantis’ transition team. He started representing Trump, his former boss’s now-presidential rival, in 2022, shortly after the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago.
[Trump’s NY attorney Todd Blanche is also filing a notice to appear pro hac vice. I doubt that this will be the final team for the defense in the criminal case; Trump reportedly spent yesterday interviewing attorneys for that job. The arraignment should be straightforward enough for his current attorneys to handle in the meantime. — Ed]
