“We are both with the FBI,” Roberts told Ketch’s mother. “We just need to speak with her regarding some information that was sent to us.”

When Tracy Ketch informed the agents that Ketch no longer lives at that residence, Roberts asked for Ketch’s residence or phone number.

“She’s not in any trouble,” Roberts assured Tracy Ketch with a smile, the footage shows. “We just have some information we need to ask her about.”

“We would tell you all the information because, like I said, she’s not in any trouble, but just out of respect for her, we’d like to speak with her first,” Roberts says, adding with a shrug, “and then, if she feels like talking to you, which I’m sure she will because it’s nothing … ”

[I’m suspicious. I have been in that situation in the past, but the FBI called ahead and arranged a meeting with me. It had to do with a death threat made against me, of which I was unaware until I met with the agents. And for clarity’s sake, my interaction with the FBI at that time and through the whole investigation was courteous, professional, and intended to protect my safety and that of my family, so I was and still am grateful for their effort. They knew where I lived already, too, although they called first to arrange the meeting. It may well be that these agents were looking for Elise Ketch for something just as legally benign, but why would they show up at her childhood home rather than look for her current residence instead? Why not call Ketch to set up an appointment at her current residence or their offices? This smells fishy to me. — Ed]
