When did U.K. come to mean “utterly kooky”? A female teacher was let go by a posh British private school operated by the Girl’s Day School Trust after she had the gall — the nerve — the impudence, to say “Good morning, girls” to students.

This offended some of the students, who immediately launched a protest, declaring “not everyone here identifies as female.” Senior staff joined the protest. The teacher, who has chosen to remain anonymous to protect the students, was forced to issue a public apology. Then when it came time to renew her contract for next year, the school refused.
