A man was stabbed in the neck and killed inside the Petworth Neighborhood Library in D.C. Thursday evening, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

The incident began as an argument between two homeless individuals who were known to each other, MPD said, adding that the suspect approached the victim a few minutes after the victim sat down at a computer. Police said he then slowly approached him, pulled out a knife, and began stabbing.

MPD described the incident as, “very deliberate.”
