NYT editors: We will not tolerate staffers joining advocacy groups that attack our reporting

[This is a rather surprising — and positive — development. As I put it on Twitter, the NYT’s editors finally decided not to pay the Danegeld, and to make clear who runs the show at the paper. The “will not tolerate” line is especially interesting. Does that mean that the staffers who signed the letter will get fired? That would send a very loud and salutary message. I’ll have more on this tomorrow with Adam Baldwin on The Amiable Skeptics, although this came out just after our taping. — Ed]
