BRZEZINSKI: “I want to know about supporting the nominee if it’s Trump. Would you do that?”
SUNUNU: “It’s not going to be Trump, no. It’s just not going to be Trump. But, you know — “
BRZEZINSKI: “That’s not an answer. Let’s say lightning struck twice. Because, actually, lightning struck. Trump won on the one day he could win in a million different ways. What if it happens again? What if he becomes the nominee? Would you support him?”
SUNUNU: “Of the former president, myself, one of us is a lifelong Republican. One of us will always support the Republican nominee.”
BRZEZINSKI: “But is he a lifelong Republican?”
SUNUNU: “No, that’s me, Mika. (Laughs)”
[It’s far too early to guess who will and who won’t win the nomination. However, it’s not too early to point out that Sununu will have a very difficult time competing against others that will enter the race. — Ed]
