In a 50-minute rant to the court, Brooks claims that the court has a conflict of interest and demanded that the case be dismissed as he is unable to “face his accuser,” which is a right protected under the 6th amendment. Y’all, he’s mad that his accusers, his victims, aren’t in the courtroom for him to face. Well, some of them aren’t there BECAUSE HE (allegedly) KILLED THEM. He mowed these people down with his SUV like they were nothing more than annoying orange traffic cones blocking his way. …
He also hilariously insisted that he does not identify by the name Darrell Brooks, and doesn’t appreciate being called by that name during court proceedings. “For the record, I still would not consent to that name or agree to that name.” The judge responded that he hasn’t provided an alternative name and that all inmate communication has been under the name of Darrell Brooks, Jr., and Brooks’ statement was noted.
