Say, remember when Hillary stole documents -- and wouldn't return them?

The death of Ken Starr, coupled with the growing likelihood that Donald Trump will be indicted for taking and possessing documents that weren’t his, caused me to think of similar conduct by Hillary Clinton. Not her use of a private server as Secretary of State, but rather years earlier, when she stole, concealed, and destroyed law firm billing records relevant to a criminal investigation.

Clinton stole the documents in question with the clear intent of making them unavailable to anyone investigating scandalous behavior. To my knowledge, it hasn’t been established that Trump’s intentions in bringing presidential records to Mar-a-Lago were nefarious.

Ken Starr elected not to prosecute Hillary Clinton. In fact, out of respect for the White House, he didn’t even mention her by name in the indictment of her partner, Webb Hubbell, for the same basic misconduct Hillary committed. Instead, as you will see below, he came up with a circumlocution. …

The documents Clinton stole and/or caused to be destroyed established her role as the attorney for participants in a fraudulent scheme called Castle Grande. Clinton, working with Webster Hubbell and Vince Foster, stole hard copies of the billing records of the Rose law firm where they were partners. They erased the electronic version of these records.
