Perhaps too big, though. MBS’s many enemies at home will use his comment to mobilize public opinion against his reforms. Tehran’s already attacking him as a traitor to all Muslims.
No wonder King Salman, the prince’s father, reiterated on Tuesday his support for the Palestinians. Aides may soon follow with the clichéd “MBS’s words were taken out of context.”
But as the young prince himself says, he’s a man in a hurry and a risk taker — note his decision to let women drive in the Kingdom and his intent to incorporate them more fully into the workforce.
