Recently ousted FBI director James Comey has been invited to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee next Tuesday, Sen. Mark Warner’s (D-Virg.) office confirmed Wednesday. Warner is the committee’s top Democrat.
Comey was the face of the FBI throughout the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and alleged coordination with President Trump’s campaign. He was fired by President Trump on Tuesday night, sparking fierce criticism from Democrats and a few Republicans.
