The New York Times reported on Monday that Bush had checked the “Hispanic” box on his 2009 Florida voter registration form.
Bush’s wife was born in Mexico and his father — President George H.W. Bush — once famously referred to their children as “the little brown ones.” But the soon-to-be 2016 GOP presidential candidate clarified his own ethnicity on the new form by checking “white, not of Hispanic origin,” according to a copy posted by BuzzFeed.

Bush had described the erroneous form as a mistake and joked about it on Twitter.
