After interviewing former Mississippi Republican Gov. Haley Barbour about, yep, the Giuliani comments, Todd walked over to his political panel to begin — yep — a panel conversation on Giuliani’s comments.

“What have we learned from this mess?” he asked the panel that included political consultant Amy Walter and former Obama staffer Robert Gibbs.

But before he let anyone answer, Todd revealed his true feelings about the story:

“When I say it’s a mess, I tell you, I’ve hated this story in so many ways: I think it brings out the worst in the press, I think it’s bringing out the worst in some politicians, and it’s a race to the bottom and now we know why everybody is cynical about the present politics.”
