Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) talked marijuana laws on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Tuesday, saying, “You don’t want to ruin a kid’s life for having a joint.”

Perry discussed lowering penalties and described the drug court system in Texas. In January, Perry urged moving in the direction of decriminalizing marijuana.

Perry recently received a very enthusiastic reception at a conservative confab in Washington. Will he run for president again in 2016? “America is a great place for second chances,” is all Perry told Kimmel.
