Capitol staff get assurance that sequestration won't affect their paychecks

Referring to the president as a “high ranking official,” Elias was adamant that staff wouldn’t see smaller paychecks and to not listen to media reports.

He wrote: “There was a specific mention in the news today by a high ranking official that said ‘The employees that clean and maintain the US Capitol will receive a cut in pay’ (not a specific quote but close to it). This is NOT true. Therefore, I request that you please notify all our employees about the importance of ignoring media reports.”
