While they fervently back new technologies that aren’t ready for prime time like wind and solar power, they are Luddites about every conventional energy technology we could use to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
They advocate the sparing of no expense when it comes to funding wind turbines and solar panels, while railing against the cost of subsidizing nuclear power.
This, even though nuclear power, while certainly expensive, has the distinct advantage over wind and solar of producing reliable, base-load energy we can actually use to power a modern industrial society.
Finally, greens constantly fear mongering against nuclear energy, a holdover from their glory days of wanting to “ban the bomb” — oblivious to the fact all forms of energy production involve risk.
