Any Republican candidate who added Rubio to his ticket would win 46 percent in Florida, leading President Obama with 41 percent, according to the poll of registered voters in Florida by Suffolk University and Miami’s WSVN7 News.

Rubio would secure both Florida and Ohio, two key states in 2012, said David Paleologos, director of the Political Research Center at Boston’s Suffolk University. “He also adds potential strength in states like New Mexico, Texas, California, Arizona, and Nevada, which have high Hispanic populations,” he said.
