Sally Bercow, wife of Commons Speaker John Bercow, has raised eyebrows at Westminster with a risqué photo shoot and some frank remarks about sex.

Taking her tendency towards self-promotion to new and eye-catching extremes, Mrs Bercow posed for revealing pictures in a magazine and candidly discussed the aphrodisiac effect of politics.

The photograph, taken in a hotel opposite the Palace of Westminster, shows the Speaker’s wife clad in little more than a white bedsheet and leering at the camera.

In the accompanying interview, she claimed that her husband’s office means that the couple both regularly romantically propositioned, and spoke of finding their grace-and-favour home “sexy.”
