Of course, he was asked about the Nicki-Minaj-probably-not-an-actual-endorsement, and really, what else was he supposed to say? And I can tell you, from where I’m sitting, I always appreciate when politicians take some time to provide access to smaller media outlets, and it’s certainly not forbidden to get a little casual and talk about personal and desultory matters for a few moments, especially on the campaign trail. But… come on. Does anybody else have the sneaking feeling that President Obama’s attention to smaller, local, less critical media outlets this summer has been perhaps unnecessarily diligent? Do you think that just maybe he wants to keep getting asked about vapid stuff like this? And meanwhile, back in D.C., is there any actual presiding going on?
