What stories topped your priority lists this week? The big news this week is the war with Iran, which has become war again with Iran, as opposed to feuding with Israel for pointing out that negotiating with the IRGC is an exercise in futility. Is Donald Trump serious about finishing off the IRGC's military capability and infrastructure? As Duane and I discuss, the expansion of targets to Artesh units – one in particular – sends a signal that the US wants regime collapse, if not flat-out regime change. Will Trump see this mission through to the end this time? Enquiring Iranian minds want to know, and maybe Saudi minds as well in regard to their renewed attacks on the Houthis.
After spending much of our time on the war, Duane and I turn to the internecine fights within the Democrat Party. Suddenly, Senate Dems have never heard of Maine. My, what a Totenkopf or two will do for political hygiene, eh? We spend more time on Michigan, where the DSA-adjacent Abdul El-Sayed has discovered the problem of being a One Percenter Socialist when Der Oysterführer has to flee his bunker. The biggest problem for progressives with El-Sayed? His wife's capitalism!
Finally, we pay tribute to Lindsey Graham at the end, and salute his sister Darline Graham Nordone for taking up his office to complete his legacy.
