How soon will America get back to a pre-pandemic normal in terms of self-governance? The answer may be never, as Adam Baldwin and I warn in today’s episode. We both refer to a recent City Journal article from Christopher Rufo in which a whistleblowing physician explains how the COVID pandemic and the sudden embrace of radical transgender ideology by the medical establishment are “inextricably linked.” The concluding argument from this anonymous doctor nearly moves Adam to tears as he reads it into the show. “Not only are they killing them in the womb to the tune of 70 million over the last 50 years,” Adam says, “they’re destroying the humanity of children. And this is the group of folks that say Do it for the children.”

Welcome back to our VIP video series “The Amiable Skeptics,” featuring my friend Adam Baldwin! Adam is well-known for his long and storied Hollywood career, starting with My Bodyguard, and especially for his roles in Full Metal Jacket, Firefly, its film sequel Serenity, Chuck, and The Last Ship.
We also discuss how the power of pandemic control vastly increased the ability — for now — to indoctrinate children into progressive ideologies. That discussion came from a powerful analysis at the Free Press by Eric Kaufman titled “The Indoctrination of the American Mind,” which warns:
If you read The Free Press, you know that over the last decade, an illiberal ideology that goes by various names—Critical Race Theory; Critical Social Justice—has transformed key institutions of American life. It is remaking the law, Hollywood, medicine, higher education, psychology, and more.
No area, however, is more important than our schools, which shape the minds of future citizens. And across the country, teachers are now engaged in the wholesale indoctrination of their pupils.
“This has all been a project of the Marxists to gain control of the children and thereby gain control of the family,” Adam says. “Subvert the family in favor of the state and state control. Fortunately,” he adds, “it seems like there’s pushback now. Thank God for the Bud Light fiasco with Mulvaney, and Target’s moron DEI/inclusion officers.”
Not so fast, I warn. “The government and the media — and in this case, the medical establishment — are continuing to combine to shut down dissent, to censor speech and to prevent people from speaking out against not just the outcomes of these policies, but also on the basis that there’s no rational basis for them in the 1st place. It is as you said earlier,” I continue, “Shut up, they argued.”
There’s a lot more in this episode, so be sure to watch it all — and join us in the comments. Our next episode explores the confrontation in the Senate with Riley Gaines and the HRC’s Kelly Robinson, and why we both consider Gaines a hero.
