Fulton Sheen's prophecy and the end of objective truth: The Amiable Skeptics featuring Adam Baldwin!

Did Archbishop Fulton Sheen foresee the intellectual and moral collapse of the West? “Sheen foresaw today’s problems 80 years ago,” Adam Baldwin declares in today’s episode. “He was clearly hip to the Frankfurt School scam,” Adam continues, “and he saw the Marxists escaping from Europe and coming over and infiltrating our society here and implementing their Marxist ideology.” The assault on basic biological science and objective truth has all but succeeded, Adam warns, and we’re seeing the fruits of it in the collapse of credibility in the media and government.

Welcome back to my VIP video series “The Amiable Skeptics,” featuring my friend Adam Baldwin! Adam is well-known for his long and storied Hollywood career, starting with My Bodyguard, and especially for his roles in Full Metal Jacket, Firefly, its film sequel SerenityChuck, and The Last Ship.

Today’s episode springs from an excellent essay at The Federalist by Paul Krause, “80 Years Ago, Archbishop Fulton Sheen Predicted The West’s Current Godless Struggle.” Adam and I discuss Krause’s main arguments, but also their implications in today’s crisis of credibility among the elites. That’s especially true in how the government’s science establishment manipulated panic over the pandemic, and how the mainstream media aided and abetted it — even to the present day.

“Two major studies came out in the past week,” I argue, “which basically negated pretty much all of the government imposed emergency policies during the pandemic.” Adam and I then discuss the Lancet and Cochrane meta-studies which provided rebukes to long-defended and incorrect conclusions by the CDC and the Biden administration — and yet most media outlets refused to report on either of them.

“The Washington Post still hasn’t reported on it,” I point out. “The New York Times still hasn’t reported on it. NPR still hasn’t reported on it.”

“They can’t talk about it,” Adam replies. “If they do, then it would be like Trump apologizing for Operation Warp Speed.” That prompts an argument between Adam and myself that is very spicy — but still amiable!

Unfortunately, we ran into some technical issues on the Zoom connection, but we got in a full episode with a little bit of choppiness. Be sure to watch it all, and join the conversation in the comments!
