What in the world is going on at Pfizer? Or for that matter, in California? It’s been a bad week for the COVID congnoscenti, as Adam Baldwin and I review in our latest VIP episode. We start out with Project Veritas capturing admissions on camera from a Pfizer manager that the company is conducting gain-of-function research on COVID-19, and follow that up with Gavin Newsom’s embarrassing setback in court to censor and intimidate medical professionals who disagree with state functionaries.

Welcome back to my VIP video series “The Amiable Skeptics,” featuring my friend Adam Baldwin! Adam is well-known for his long and storied Hollywood career, starting with My Bodyguard, and especially for his roles in Full Metal Jacket, Firefly, its film sequel Serenity, Chuck, and The Last Ship.
We conducted this conversation before either of saw the other PV video, where the same manager goes nuts when he realizes what they have in the first video, but those revelations are enough. Neither Adam nor I think Pfizer’s trying to create another pandemic to sell more vaccines, but we’re also not sure they won’t stumble into one, either. And government coercion in forcing the use of Pfizer vaccines makes us both wonder what the business model for that will be.
“They are trying to do R&D on these viruses,” Adam points out, “to potentially have a new product to sell to the public or to the government, forced through taxpayer money.”
“I don’t have a problem with them doing R&D,” I reply, “but not R&D that creates new viruses. This takes us back,” I point out, “to the whole unanswered question as to the origins of COVID-19 in the first place” — and why everyone seemed so invested in shutting down those debates when it mattered. We still have not found out “whether the funding that came from [NIAID] went directly to the Wuhan lab for the specific purpose of gain of function research,” and whether that accidentally “created this virus in a lab.”
Both Adam and I hail a ruling in federal court stopping AB 2098, which attempted to gag doctors from discussing COVID-19 with patients in any other way than the state’s view of “scientific consensus.” Adam scoffed, “When I first saw this damn thing, I said, Well, it’s unenforceable.” Adam and I have a lot of fun with that concept, and review the business model of the Stasi — and how it also applied to Twitter in the pre-Elon days.
Enjoy the show, and join the conversation in the comments!
