McCarthy 2.0, Klain goes, classified rows: The Week in Review!

What stories topped your priority lists this week? For Duane Patterson, Kevin McCarthy’s rebuke to the media and Adam Schiff topped the list. “Kevin McCarthy 2.0,” Duane quipped. “There was a lot of people a few weeks ago that were banging on Kevin McCarthy” for not being strong enough with the media. My top story this week came in two parts … all apologies due to the climactic scene in Back to School, of course.

Welcome to our new VIP feature for Hot Air as well as a members-only show in the Hughniverse! Duane Patterson and I now are doing a Week in Review show for Friday evenings, exclusive to members in both platforms. Duane has been the Generalissimo behind the Hugh Hewitt Show for more than two decades, and we have partnered on weekly commentary since 2007.

The most visible story of the week for me was the classified documents scandal, of course, especially since everyone and their brother apparently tried to collect the whole set. But the most important story of the week, I argue, is Jeffrey Zients taking over for Ron Klain as the country’s shadow president. “Prime minister,” Duane corrects in jest. It’s the first signal as to what Biden plans to do over the next two years to right the ship, and … it doesn’t impress either of us.
