Tim Walz goes on an unhinged rant about Trump supporters:
— johnny maga (@_johnnymaga) August 25, 2025
“Think of how easy it would be to be a damn Republican. ‘Oh what should I wear today? This stupid FREAKING RED HAT.’”
Dems tried to make this guy VP. Just pure hatred for his countrymen. pic.twitter.com/kvH1jFEdzb
Ed: Dear Democrats ... please make sure this man is on the ticket in 2028. And 2032. And 2036. If anyone needed a live demonstration of how insular and self-absorbed this party has become, this rant is a perfect demonstration.

NBC San Antonio: Gostomski revealed that Texas Democrats are receiving special recognition from the national committee during the gathering.
“Later today, actually the full DNC is going to be honoring the Texas House Democratic Caucus for their leadership in stopping the maps in the first special,” he said. “And honoring Representative Gene Wu, the caucus chair in particular.”
Ed: Yeah ... do more of that too, DNC. Let's protect democracy by refusing to attend legislative sessions unless you get your own way. Good luck with that.

Gavin Newsom’s Trump-mocking posts got lucky once, but they’re already tired and boring. @ScottAdamsSays “They can’t ride that one joke forever. They’re going to have to do new stuff.
— jay plemons (@jayplemons) August 24, 2025
What are the odds that the next thing they do is another home run?
Almost zero. 1% maybe” pic.twitter.com/E22sPaPwPN
Ed: That one joke is all they have. Literally. They are so far to the fringe on issues that they either can't or won't talk about anything else other than Trump.

Newsweek: In a fiery address to his party on Monday, Martin told members he was "sick" of the Democrats "bringing a pencil to a knife fight."
He urged fellow Democrats to "stand up and fight," telling the meeting, "We cannot be the only party who plays by the rules."
"Are you ready to take back our country from the wannabe-king in the White House?" he asked to loud cheers.
Ed: Well, if one follows the polls, Martin is hardly alone in being sick of the Democrat Party. Once again, it appears that the DNC seems intent on doubling down on their Trump obsession, rather than figuring out how they got on the wrong side of nearly every 80/20 issue with the American electorate. Like most socialists, rather than learn from their failures, they remain convinced that more stridency in messaging and enforcement is the only solution.

The DNC Summer Meeting begins with a land acknowledgment that claims Minneapolis, Minnesota is on stolen land. pic.twitter.com/zayYRl5w4r
— Greg Price (@greg_price11) August 25, 2025
Ed: Then why is the DNC holding its meetings there? Why not hold it in Boston? For that matter, the DFL has controlled Minnesota for almost two decades. Why not give the land back? Good luck appealing to the rest of the country with this woke nonsense. (Via AoSHQ)

These pink-vested morons have truly out-moroned every other moron out there. https://t.co/eKtaXzS9Xl

Ed: Are we really still doing the Code Pink thing? Really?

WSJ: Last week, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said the U.S. labor market has entered “a curious kind of balance.” The demand for workers has cooled, yet the unemployment rate has held steady because the supply of labor has slowed abruptly.
Behind that slowing in the labor supply is a dramatic swing in immigration, from one of the biggest waves in U.S. history to almost none. Economists say that could have subtle but lasting consequences.
A virtual halt to unauthorized border crossings, plus stepped-up deportations and a souring climate for foreigners means net immigration this year could be negative for the first time in decades, some experts predict.
Ed: One thing to bear in mind is that when the data environment changes this significantly, so too do the assumptions and expectations. The impact of these changes may take a long time to understand. Something similar happened to the weekly initial jobs claims numbers after the 2008 financial sector crisis. We've already seen weird data anomalies in the job-creation stats this year, and we can't be sure now whether job creation has stalled or whether jobs are transferring from illegal aliens to legal residents in the US. That could explain why wages are still rising above the inflation rate despite an apparent three-month stall in job creation. But we won't know for sure for a while.

64 vs. 33. A lifetime of hard work vs. a silver spoon. The results speak for themselves.

The weight of the job is too heavy for “Mamscrawny.” The only thing he can lift is your taxes. pic.twitter.com/HR6fDPKn0B
Ed: I was discussing this with a friend over the weekend. When I wrestled in high school -- nearly 50 years ago, of course -- we had to be able to bench press our own weight at a minimum. I competed at the 148 class, so I had to do at least 150, and IIRC, it wasn't really a problem for me ... at 14 years of age. I don't recall where I ended up, but I am quite sure it was over 200.

Free Beacon: Millions of dollars raised to help victims of the 2025 California wildfires have ended up in the coffers of unrelated nonprofits pushing a variety of progressive causes, a Washington Free Beacon review found. Some of the groups that have received funds explicitly exclude white people from their services, while others advertise programs for illegal aliens.
FireAid, a celebrity-studded fundraising organization that raked in about $100 million for wildfire relief efforts, has distributed money to more than 160 California nonprofits. Its flagship event on Jan. 30, produced by the Annenberg Foundation, featured performers like Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Dr. Dre, Stevie Wonder, and Sting, among others.
FireAid announced in February that it would distribute the money it raised "equitably," a promise it appears to have kept. Greenline Housing Foundation, for instance, received funds from a $4.8 million pool dedicated to health and housing. It noted on its website that no whites need apply.
Ed: Is anyone surprised that the entertainment industry would engage in such discriminatory behavior? There may not be any legal consequences for these policies, but everyone who was involved in this fund should be asked to publicly explain their discriminatory conduct.

Read the responses to this. Dozens of people just openly calling for my murder for believing Israel should exist.
— Brianna Wu (@BriannaWu) August 25, 2025
Literally cannot believe what has been unleashed. https://t.co/6bQkFB8o5i
Ed: I can believe it. And I'm sure you can as well.

In a post titled "A Promise To Our Guests," the restaurant chain acknowledged the negative reaction.
"If the last few days have shown us anything, it's how deeply people care about Cracker Barrel," the company wrote, according to Southern Living. "You've also shown us that we could've done a better job sharing who we are and who we'll always be."
The company stressed that the redesign doesn't mean a departure from its tradition. "Uncle Herschel" will continue to appear on menus, on road signs, and inside its stores, Cracker Barrel said. It added that popular features such as front-porch rocking chairs, peg games, and country-store decor will remain unchanged.
Ed: Hmmm. Sounds more like a New Coke thing than a Bud Light woke fiasco, but Coca-Cola figured out how to recover from the damage while Bud Light never did. Will Cracker Barrel figure out that the best recovery is a reversal with an apology?

They want to use our tax dollars to mutilate their kids. no thank you https://t.co/eucaR6HoK1
— James Jay Carafano (@JJCarafano) August 25, 2025
Ed: Yes, Democrats, please listen to the Keith Ellisons of your party to find your way out of the political wildnerness. Don't worry about that cliff you see -- but do say hi to the Whigs when you get down there.
