Leno: Hey, Obama might be in trouble if journalists start asking questions

Via Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters, Jay Leno tries joking about the protective media bubble around the President … and falls victim to it.  On last night’s show, Leno noted that CBS became the first news agency besides Fox to wonder who changed the administration’s initial talking points for Susan Rice to avoid admitting that the attack on our Benghazi consulate that killed four Americans and chased us out of eastern Libya was a planned terrorist operation and not just a spontaneous demonstration prompted by a YouTube video.  Unfortunately, Leno’s audience seems unaware of the story to the point where hardly anyone got the joke:

“This week, CBS News became the first news organization besides Fox to ask President Obama ‘Who changed the Benghazi talking points?’” Leno teased.

“See, this is very dangerous to the White House if journalists should suddenly start asking real questions.”

Maybe it didn’t get very many laughs because it’s not a joke.  The joke has been the lack of curiosity among the media class about the circumstances that led to their broadcasting a false narrative on their Sunday talk shows and printed in the media for days after the administration knew perfectly well that the sacking of the consulate was no spontaneous event.
