This is one of those human moments that happens to everyone, including me. Pee Wee Herman made a classic gag of it, doing pratfalls and bouncing back to his feet with a snotty “I meant to do that!” It may seem a bit churlish to poke fun at a Presidential pratfall, but if so, then Americans have a long history of churlishness, starting at least with Gerald Ford climbing into Air Force One and ending with the gales of laughter heard over Barack Obama’s predecessor choking on a pretzel.
