Barack Obama skipped the 20th anniversary celebrations of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the climax of the Cold War and the victory of liberty over statism and totalitarianism. Michael Ramirez of Investors Business Daily wonders what kind of a wall would have to fall in order to gain Obama’s enthusiastic attention. Given where Ramirez works, and the kind of policies that Obama has pursued, this seems like a natural answer:
Perhaps at that celebration, Obama could regale us with tales of Foot Rustlers and Tonsil Vultures, while Nancy Pelosi explained the villainy of an industry that had the temerity to get a 3% return on its investment.
Ramirez has a terrific collection of his works: Everyone Has the Right to My Opinion, which covers the entire breadth of Ramirez’ career, and it gives a fascinating look at political history. Read my review here, and watch my interviews with Ramirez here and here. And don’t forget to check out the entire Investors.com site, which has now incorporated all of the former IBD Editorials, while individual investors still exist.
