Where Is Your Pride, Democrat Voters?

Townhall Media

There are a lot of things I cannot begin to understand about Democrat voters, and why they hate Republican policies is not one of them.

I understand that, and not all of it has to do with envy or anger at the social order, although those emotions drive a significant fraction of their voters. There are a lot of Democratic Party voters who genuinely believe that their party wants to help people in need, and find Republican priorities selfish and excessively harsh to the people who are not the winners in our society.

I'm fine having a policy debate with those people, and even sitting down and negotiating over the details of the social insurance system. We may disagree on many issues, but there is plenty of room for discussion.

But geez, man, I can't get over how these voters who consider themselves rational, moderate, and brimming with compassion can tolerate the fact that their party gaslights them all the time, nor how they can't make the connection between the stated goals of policies never being met and the gaslighting they endure on everything else.

There are too many examples to count, but to keep the discussion to one of the obvious examples, let's look at the case of Ian Sams, who worked for Joe Biden in some capacity for four years, and who was the spokesman on his legal issues for the last two. In that capacity, he spent a lot of time defending Biden both on legal issues and, in particular, on the question of his mental capacity. It was his primary duty, and while doing so absolutely trashed Robert Hur after his report was released.

Sams was called before the House Oversight Committee, which is looking into Biden's mental capacity and how it impacted his presidency and policies, and Sams testified pretty openly. And what he said should blow you away.

He spent years on TV giving the impression he saw Joe Biden nearly every day, when in fact over four years he met with him in person...twice. He literally spent less time with Joe Biden as an aide for four years than Robert Hur, who met with Biden for a few hours.

Democrats: Doesn't it bother you that the people whose job it is to communicate with you lie constantly? And, knowing that they do, why do you continue to trust them as they criticize others?

These aren't small sins. The question of Joe Biden's mental capacity was central to both his ability to be president and to lead the political party to which you are committed.

And, in some ways, most of all, have you no pride? Is your commitment to voting Democrat above all else so strong that you will allow yourself to be pissed on and told that it is raining clear, fresh water?

There's a simple reason why Republicans do little more than make fun of Democrats and brush off their criticisms: Democrats are lying whenever they open their mouths. Adam Schiff was showered with money and acclaim, elevated from Congress to the Senate, despite or because of the fact that absolutely nothing he says is remotely true.

If the Democratic Party were about anything other than self-dealing, I would be happy to sit down and discuss public policy. But when the Biden line, and every Democrat's line for four years, was that Biden was "sharp as a tack" and "the border is secure," there simply is no point.

Worse, what is the point of taking anybody seriously who buys what these liars are selling? It's like arguing with a schizophrenic; the facts don't matter.

Of all the things that are a mystery to me about Democrats, this is the biggest puzzle. The willingness, even eagerness, to be lied to.

: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
