Minnesota Democrats, Including Tim Walz, Cutting Illegal Immigrants Out of Medical Assistance

Minnesota Democrats are trying to lay the blame on Republicans, and with some reason, but when push came to shove, they caved and are cutting illegal immigrants off from state-subsidized healthcare.

The reason? Shockingly enough, there isn't enough money to spread around to all their favored constituencies after having blown an enormous budget surplus in the last biennium.

Leftists both inside and outside the House Chamber are not happy at all.

Minnesota isn't the only state to start restricting government subsidies for illegal immigrants, and the reason is pretty simple: the real world is doing what it always does: intrude into the fantasy world that utopians want to create.

The debate on the House floor here in Minnesota is nevertheless revealing. Leftists in the House are flat out making the case that white people are ruining the state and that they are doing their best to become a magnet for migrants, legal or otherwise. For all the claims that the great replacement theory is a myth, when push comes to shove, the legislators on the left come out and admit it.

What is striking about these arguments is the simultaneous claims that white people can't build things (a bizarre claim, since migrants are crossing into the United States because we have built the strongest economy in the world) and that the people who will save our economy can do so only if we spend billions of dollars subsidizing them.

Make that make sense. Most of us have to make money to pay for our healthcare, but the people who really drive our economy need us to contribute to their healthcare, too?

Maybe Finke means something like "Who will pick our cotton if we let the slaves go free?" Or perhaps this banger:

I can't even. Do these people have a brain in their heads, or a version of MarxGPT?

Cutting off federal and state benefits to illegal aliens isn't really a solution to the budgetary problems presented by ten to thirty million illegal immigrants in our country. We shouldn't want to have a permanent underclass who we can exploit to wipe our asses, or people who will only show up in emergency rooms because they can't get primary care.

It's not a solution to our problems. Mass deportations are as unpleasant as that prospect is for a lot of people. It would have been a lot kinder to have never opened our borders, both for American citizens and for the millions of people we are trying to kick back out of the country. Many of them braved horrible treks, paid human traffickers to get them here, and were promised free room, board, and healthcare based on the flawed premise that America could absorb millions of undereducated, unvetted, and often unskilled migrants.

As even Deep Blue states are confronting the reality that this bargain couldn't be sustained, we are all worse off. No amount of attacks on American citizens for being selfish or cries for compassion can obscure the fact that the Biden policies have been bankrupting the country and tearing our social fabric.

Radicals like Finke may see the influx of migrants as the proper revenge for America becoming wealthy, but most people really aren't interested in becoming the welfare state for the world, and don't feel guilty for having built the greatest country on Earth.
