Lying Liars and the Lies They Tell

it's not exactly news that most things pushed out at the public by the Pravda Media are little more than propaganda, but it behooves us to know our enemy, what they do, what they say, and how they say it.

Ignorance may be bliss when you cannot change an outcome, but not knowing the strategy and tactics of an enemy you are at war with (or potentially will be) is stupid and dangerous.

That's why I pay attention--with a side eye, not a laser focus, admittedly--to what is being broadcast and written by our ideological opponents. Their propaganda works on their intended audience, and unless we know what that propaganda is we cannot counter it. And lest you think that there is no point, I remind you that while it has taken decades to chip away at the credibility of the media, we have been succeeding.

One of the most recent propaganda campaigns has been turning Elon Musk into Emmanuel Goldstein, the hated figure in 1984. The Two-Minutes Hate aimed at him has had the intended effect--lefties around the world are engaged in the most vile and hateful activities that add up to a terrorist campaign against both Musk and anyone who owns a Tesla.

The ultimate target is not Musk, but Trump, but they understand (finally) that Trump is Teflon when it comes to their attacks, so a flanking attack is their new tactic.

MSNBC has been leading the charge, along with every designated liar among the Democrats. You know the crowd--Daniel Goldman, Adam Schiff, and the rogue's gallery of especially oily liars who love looking into the camera and spewing the most deceptive, hateful nonsense for the viewing pleasure of the Trump-deranged.

Every politician will lie unless their name is Massey, Jordan, Kennedy, or Paul (plus a few more), but there is something special about this crew. They take glee in making Joe McCarthy look transparent and temperate. They are psychopaths while the average politician is a mere sociopath.

Outlets like MSNBC exist to bridge the gap--they help execute the psychological manipulation of the more gullible but still sane members of the public by doing things like Rachel Maddow did in that clip. They present a campaign of domestic terrorism as mere protests and pickets--hiding the firebombings, doxxings, vandalism, and death threats--while making outlandish claims that Trump wants to jail every picketer.

You and I see this all as nothing but transparent lies--but how many millions get their news from NBC News, MSNBC, The View, CNN, and all the networks and newspapers?

If you think this doesn't work because it SHOULDN'T work, remember that they helped turn Luigi Mangione into a folk hero with groupies, fundraisers, and a legal team that only a billionaire could assemble. PsyOps work. Not on everyone, but then again, look at how compliant people were during COVID.

All the Very Best™ people are doing their "violence is wrong, but..." shtick, and I guarantee you that a ton of center-left voters and influencers are buying that line.

After all, Elon Musk is killing people! He is Hitler!

There is another audience for all this hate: scared Republicans who want to stay out of the line of fire. I have spent my professional life around Republican politicians, and it will not surprise you to know that they, for the most part, talk tough and run away when the shooting starts. And unlike in most political battles, this one has real shooting involved.

Sit in any caucus meeting in a purple state (or even many Red ones), and you will hear Republican after Republican obsessing about the Suburban women's vote. They shy away from anything that smells of conflict and worry about what their opponents will say in the next campaign.

Elon Musk's DOGE scares them. It smells of conflict because it requires conflict.

There is likely something between $500 billion and a trillion dollars in fraud hidden the Medicare and Social Security programs, and cutting away that fraud will be presented as cutting the programs, not saving them.

"You cut Medicare!!" No matter that the Medicare cuts are to fraudulent payments, the charge will be made, and Republicans are paralyzed with fear about the consequences of doing the right thing.

Key to the effectiveness of the PsyOp is activating the terrorists-in-waiting and spreading the lies that will make voters and weak Republicans nervous. This is the one-two punch they use to hold the line when they are losing.

It's not a perfect strategy that always works--it often backfires in the long run, as the lawfare did--but it is all they have and is often effective. It worked in Trump's first term. Let's hope it doesn't in his second.
