German Governments Ban Police From Joining AfD

Nice job you have there. It would be a shame if you were to lose it for being disloyal to the ruling clique.

Of course, the powers that be in Germany don't call their threats to fire supporters of AfD an assurance that the people they hand guns to are committed to enforcing the speech codes of the German elites' choosing; they couch their order in the much nicer sounding assurance that everybody has the same loyalty to the Constitution as the ruling clique.

See the difference? Think of this as a nice note to everyone that the Stasi currently doesn't interrogate everyone to ensure they agree with everything the people on top say and do; they just have to vote as if they do or face the wrath of the ruling elite.

This isn't East Germany, exactly. It is East Germany with a smiley face, which is much better

“Our liberal democratic order […] forms the basis for the mindset and behaviour of all police employees”, said the document.

“The constitutional state can therefore not tolerate civil servants, who represent right-wing extremist, racist, or otherwise inhuman positions,” it continued.

The intranet document then referred to an internal decree of the Interior Ministry, dated August 29, 2024. The interior minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) is responsible for Germany’s federal police.

This decree – according to the leaked document – said any police officer standing as a candidate for AfD would need to face a mandatory disciplinary procedure.

The Interior Ministry referred to decisions of the State Offices for Constitution Protection (LfV) in Thuringia and Saxony which characterised AfD as “definitely right-wing extremist”.

“Membership in a party deemed ‘definitely right-wing extremist’ raises doubts about the constitutional loyalty of the police officer”, said the police document.

None of Germany’s other 14 states or the federal government have labelled the AfD as “definitely right-wing extremist”.

Germany’s internal security service (the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz, or BfV) will publish a report on the federal AfD later this year.

Now I am fully on board with the Realpolitik notion that sometimes we have to deal with unsavory authoritarian governments to ensure that our interests are protected and that we are free and prosperous within our borders. That is a sad reality of living in the real world.

But I will be damned before I accept the moralistic preening of Europeans about preserving democracy or listen to the transnationalists who look down their noses at us as we defend free speech.

Germany may be freer than Russia, but it is not a free or democratic country by any standard that I recognize. Nor is Great Britain, for that matter. They are creeping their way toward becoming full-blown police states mirroring China's social credit system, and they are demanding we go along with them for the ride.

And to pay for the cab ride when we all reach our destination since they have eviscerated their own economies in the pursuit of NetZero, which will reduce CO2 emissions by a negligible amount as the rest of the world keeps pumping it out into the atmosphere.

I love Europe in the way any family member loves an alcoholic family member. It pains me no end to watch the continent destroy itself, but at some point, you have to recognize that we are enabling, not helping them.

Time to send them to detox, not buy them another bottle of booze.
