In any case, I suspect both AOC and her followers do really believe that Elon Musk is dumb, that he is pushing to shut down the Department of Education because he wants the money in his own pockets, and that oligarchs are raiding the federal treasury. 

That is because they are stupid. Many of the same people believe that the unelected bureaucracy who work for Donald Trump--yes, he is their boss, and they get their authority, security clearances, and paychecks from the Executive Branch and are bound to his lawful orders--are entitled to #resist. 

Elon Musk is currently a special government employee--this is a real category--with a top-secret security clearance that was granted by the BIDEN administration, and he is on a mission to do exactly what Trump ran on alongside Musk. There was no secret about this. People voted for it. 

Musk is the 21st-century Edison, accomplishing what NASA couldn't over the past nearly 70 years. He is anything but stupid. If he were, the bureaucrats and Democrats would be running circles around him. 

Usually, I critique public intellectuals as midwits, but AOC is a clear exception. She is a halfwit. She is the living embodiment of the Dunning-Kruger effect, in which stupid people overestimate their ability and intelligence because, well, they are too stupid to know better. 

It is an indictment of our academic system that she went to and graduated from a prestigious university--Boston University--and of USAID for subsidizing her time there.

The Democratic Party is infested with idiots like David Hogg, AOC, and lots of half- and mid-wit graduates from elite schools who think they know something because they got a sheepskin from a prestigious school.

There are some smart people in the Democratic Party, but the exodus of so many of them over the past couple of years should be a warning sign to the rest of them. 

Unfortunately for them, they are surrounded by halfwits like AOC.
