Whatever your opinions about the appropriate way to treat adults who are "transgender,"--I think that medicalizing what amounts to a mental illness--until just about yesterday, believing that sterilizing and mutilating children is a good idea was a fringe opinion. Now it is the standard of treatment in the Blue regions of the United States.

It is a core belief of our educational institutions, most of the Pravda Media, medical journals, medical schools, and associations. Dissent from alphabet ideology's basic tenets is a canceling offense, exposing illegal medical procedures in hospitals earns you criminal investigations by the federal government and cancellation by all the right people.

Even in the land where it all began, the Dutch are abandoning the so-called "Dutch Protocol" that prescribed radical medical experiments on children. Medicalizing gender dysphoria is now basically illegal across the pond, but its practice is considered essential here in the United States.

At the same time that many European countries are reversing course on medically treating children for "dysphoria"--which by definition is a feeling not a disease--gender ideology is still marching through our institutions in about half the states--to the extent that parents can lose parental rights if they do affirm the transgender identity of their children and pursue life-altering mutilation of their children.

As the evidence pours in that the safety and effectiveness of these "treatments" is inconsistent with the evidence, radicals are arguing that these "treatments" are about the autonomy of children, not health. The "health" arguments were always a smokescreen anyway. Alphabet ideology is a subset of transhumanism, which is committed to the idea that human beings are not embodied beings but merely collections of thoughts and desires, and true freedom requires liberation from our bodies entirely.

I have written much over the years about the damage being done by gender ideology and about the medical house of horrors that has been built and protected by the "queer" community, but "Identity Crisis" packages things up in a coherent, easy-to-watch, and vitally important package.

I am proud of the series of articles I have written about this critical issue, but nothing has the impact of a documentary that puts everything together, all at once, with the evidence easy to digest. As much as I hate to admit it, documentaries such as "What Is a Woman" by Matt Walsh and now "Identity Crisis" have a thousand times more impact than anything I can write. 

Sigh. I will soldier on, of course, but part of doing so is promoting others who do the same.

Documentaries can also break through to people who casually accept the Pravda Media's portrayal of the issue. "What Is a Woman" did something an essay cannot--show the absurdity of the ideology through interviews with the advocates themselves. It's like a slap in the face to see it live and in person, as it were.
