Coming Soon: A DOGE Podcast

This is going to drive the left insane.

Trump signaled that he was serious about slimming the size of the federal government by appointing Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to a quasi-governmental agency focused on bringing efficiency to the government.

Good luck with that, guys! I wish you well, but I am glad that I will be watching from the sidelines as you deal with intransigent bureaucrats.

Musk and Ramaswamy are best positioned to spearhead this effort, given that their combined IQs and experience in making things run well exceed that of all the federal bureaucrats combined. I do fear that stupid intransigence may be able to outwait brilliant strategy and tactics, but then again I have never watched Musk and Vivek up close and in action.

We all may soon get a chance to do so because DOGE is committed to complete transparency. Vivek has announced that he and Musk will run a podcast laying out what they are doing, what progress they are making, and doing an end-run around the Pravda Media's no doubt soon-to-come alliance with the #resistance.

I expect to see the media flooded with sob stories about how mean, nasty, and ugly DOGE is, and if Elon and Vivek (see, WE now have the single-named superstars, lefties!) didn't run a parallel communications operation, the brainwashing operation would likely make progress with the general public.

Elon and Vivek, unlike previous generations of Republicans, know how to get around the propaganda machine and reach the general public. Elon has done it with X, Vivek with his peripatetic and nearly frantic efforts to speak to as many Americans as possible directly, and a podcast is a great way to do so.

The bureaucrats and the Pravda media will do their prepackaged hit jobs that used to work, but in this new media environment, the media is quickly losing power. If Trump and his allies cede the communications battle to the enemy, they will make only modest progress because they will be fighting their war against waste on multiple fronts.

It has taken a century to build an administrative state that has been strangling America, and Trump, Elon, and Vivek have two years to take a chainsaw to it. Milei has shown that major progress can be made in a short time with a determined effort.

Change can be scary. As much as MAGA is eager to see Trump get to work, its opponents will sow fear that for many people will come naturally. "Better the Devil you know..." and all that.

A podcast is not a silver bullet to counter this, but it sure could alleviate the fear. Vivek is a master communicator, and Musk's record of and continuing achievements make him a powerful voice. Every criticism against him can be rebutted by a rocket launch. He has done what nobody has thought possible, and the monstrous bureaucracies of government-adjacent of corporate goliaths could never achieve.

Big government is Boeing; DOGE is SpaceX.
