Sunday Smiles: VICTORY!

MEME

My biggest complaint about Trump--I expressed it many times when I was unsuccessfully arguing that Ron DeSantis should have been the Republican candidate--was that the former and future president did a terrible job picking people to staff his first term. Even Trump has implicitly admitted that.

Not a lot of retreads will be returning. Trump knows not to trust the Washington establishment, which rushed to help staff his White House.

That will NOT be a problem this time, which makes me thrilled. The Dream Team he has assembled is perhaps the most impressive group of presidential advisors in decades or perhaps since the Founders established this country.  Who wouldn't want Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard, Vivek Ramaswamy, RFK Jr., and all the less famous but no less impressive people who have risked everything to help Trump win?

Democrats have branded these people traitors to their cause, given that most of them are former Democrats. The truth is that, in a sense, they are traitors to the liberal cause because they chose common sense and patriotism over a comfortable and risk-free path.

Elon Musk risked the most to join with Trump, given the vitriol and outright threats directed at him. A movement to jail him, deport him, bankrupt his companies, and even revoke his citizenship began. He was declared "Public Enemy #2" in Germany, British politicians and law enforcement officers mused about extraditing him, and the EU threatened all his companies for allowing free speech.

Tulsi Gabbard was put on the terrorist watch list, and all of these figures risked being placed on a blacklist for choosing to support Trump.

In normal times, supporting a political candidate wouldn't mean risking everything, but we have been sliding toward totalitarianism for several years--going back at least to the Obama years. During the Biden/Harris administration, the establishment was putting it all on the line on their side--pushing lawfare, censorship, and propaganda at levels never before seen since Woodrow Wilson's administration. Only this time the government's and Big Tech's powers make the Wilson administration look like Pikers ran it.

Some will tell Trump that his job is to prove he is not a norm-breaker. That is insanely wrong.

Trump needs to be a wrecking ball. Tear it all down and rebuild a smaller government dedicated to freedom. Clean out the Pentagon, the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the Justice Department, the Public Health establishment, and every other bureaucracy possible.

Trump has the right team in place to do it. As a man who has run a private company, he is not equipped to defeat bureaucracies, but the people around him do. None of them is a swamp creature, but they understand how things work in big corporations in a way that Trump can't.

Trump is a people person. He was most effective in foreign policy because he understands the art of the deal. He did an amazing job in his first term, and I expect he will excel in his second.

America has been on a dark path, and Trump has the opportunity to actually make America great again, not as a slogan, but as a reality. I really believe he will. Pray for the man and the country. He needs our backing to get the job done.
