For the Second Day in a Row, Harris Not Campaigning

It's hard to know what to make of this, but for the second day in a row, Kamala Harris is not campaigning.

The only event she has on her schedule is a town hall on CNN tonight. It IS in Pennsylvania, so you might make the argument that she is "campaigning" in the state, but that is such a stretch that the rubber band might break.

I have been saying for a week or so that the Harris campaign is over, and in a very real sense it is. She is still the candidate, still has a shot at winning (though diminishing), and her proxies like Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen are still singing from the same song sheet.

But the Harris campaign? It failed. It's not even close. Harris is off the campaign trail and apparently yelling at Gwen Walz, blaming her for alienating men.

Tim Walz, for some unknown reason, is still out campaigning. He spoke briefly yesterday before turning the rally over to Barack Obama, whose primary role seems to be alienating black voters.

Oops. That didn't go well.

As far as I can tell, the main push of the campaign is to hand things over to panicked social media influencers, whose job it is to push The Atlantic's obvious hoax that Donald Trump hates Mexican soldiers. The story revolves around the death of Vanessa Guillen, and only certified members of the transnational elite and Trump haters think it could possibly be true.

Really, they are going with that. The problem is that nobody outside the Trump-deranged bubble is listening anymore. Jen Rubin and Will Stancil are pushing it, as are others in their circle. But they have become jokes. The electronic media folks are pushing the story hard, and Trump haters love the story. But it is a joke. As I wrote earlier, the people directly involved, including the lawyer for the family and the sister, call bulls**t. They are voting for Trump.

This is why nobody trusts the media anymore, and they are Kamala Harris' primary surrogates right now. They emanate the stench of panic flop sweat, suggesting that they know the jig is up.

By now, you can't pull off an October Surprise. The best they can do is knock Trump's McDonalds visit out of the conversation.

They are flooding the zone with hoaxes, upping the hatred quotient, and hoping that SOMETHING can stop Trumpmentum.

Trump is immune to surprises because everybody knows him, knows what they think of him, and will not be swayed by the same people who have lied to them about EVERYTHING over the past few years. You either like Trump or you don't. Upping Trump hatred has diminishing returns.

Pulling Kamala Harris off the campaign trail might be the right thing to do, but probably not. Just as Bob Dole's frenetic campaign pace at the end of the race looked desperate, Harris' disappearance looks desperate as well, just differently desperate. It is an acknowledgment that she is totally ill-equipped to run a campaign, no less a presidency.

I should note that Kamala will make an appearance tomorrow--but with Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen. She can't campaign by herself anymore. I guess they need a break from the rent-a-crowds.

On Thursday, the vice president will be in Georgia for a campaign rally, joined by former President Barack Obama as Bruce Springsteen performs. The event will mark the first time Harris and Obama have appeared together on the campaign trail.

But, I warn you, the Democrats are not done. Cornered rats do desperate things, and these rats are cornered. They are enraged beyond measure and clearly frightened.

I don't know what is on the schedule next--certainly not Kamala's since hers has been cleared--but something awful is. They are determined that Trump is not inaugurated in January.
