Kamala's Media Blitz Is a Disaster

Kamala Harris has a real shot at becoming president, but if she does, it will be because her voters hate Trump. It is impossible to believe that anybody thinks she is presidential material. She is stupid and proves it every time she opens her mouth.

This shouldn't be a controversial thing to say. I know Democrats who will openly admit that they think Harris is awful--and her pre-candidacy poll numbers and disastrous 2019 presidential campaign prove that almost everybody knows that she is stupid and incompetent.

That's why she was hidden from the media for so long and has gone through several "reboots" going back years. The JOY! and "Brat Summer" versions of her campaign worked for a while, but her internal polling must show that she needs to answer questions. Thus her "media blitz" this week.

It's been a disaster because she is stupid and incompetent. She has made flub after flub--not gaffes per se, but her standard word salads that led to her disastrous poll numbers before her rise to candidate.

Her 60 Minutes interview was so bad that CBS sliced and diced it to make her sound better, and that didn't work. Yesterday I wrote about CBS completely rewriting one of her answers by splicing different parts of the interview. They even rewrote the transcript! This is the Dan Rather network.

But the more damaging interviews were in much friendlier settings, where her interlocutors went out of their way to make her look good. Kamala looks even more vapid than in the harder-hitting 60 Minutes interview.

Talking with the harridans of The View, Harris was asked about her differences with Biden, and her response was devastating.

Her advisors recognize that being tied to the unpopular Biden administration is a liability and have leaked that they want to separate themselves from the administration more.

Kamala's media blitz is accomplishing the opposite. Trump has, as I predicted earlier today, turned this into an ad.

Kamala didn't stop there, though. Her appearance on Colbert made things even worse, giving us both the embrace of Biden AND her famous wilted word salad with cheap vinegar.

Biden is sometimes giving Harris a bearhug while simultaneously undermining aspects of her messaging. He completely trashed her criticisms of Ron DeSantis but kept telling people she was in lockstep with him on policy. It's a poisonous brew, suggesting he is having fun undermining her campaign.

I am guessing Kamala is being pressured by Biden to keep to a deal that required Democrats to compare him to George Washington and Cincinnattus. What else could explain her continued embrace of Biden when she is also pushing herself as new and a change agent?

Whatever the reason, this media "blitz" (it is hardly that, but as close as Harris will get) is a disaster for her. It may or may not cost her the election--there are few swing voters in this election--but it certainly undermines her efforts to reach "Harris curious" voters who don't like Biden policies but dislike Donald Trump.

Harris' problem now is the same as her problem in 2019, and it has nothing to do with campaign strategy. Harris is too vapid to be president, and people know it. Her voters will go into the voting booth hoping the Deep State technocrats will save her, but that is just another vote for Biden Part II.

There are too many variables at play to make a solid prediction about who will win the election. Harris has incredible--so much that I suspect a lot of illegal contributions--amounts of money at her disposal, a political machine that is beyond comprehension, and perhaps people willing to manipulate elections on her side.

But the candidate, not the machine, is running. And she is horrible. As is the record on which she is running.

Swing voters will break one direction or another--they don't split evenly. I think they will break for Trump.
