Weird Take: Maggie Haberman of NYT Says Trump Hasn't Gotten Much Pushback Over Past Two Years

Donald Trump has apparently gotten a free ride from the Democrats and the mainstream media in recent years. I have that on good authority: Maggie Haberman of The New York Times.

It really is disturbing if you think about it. Perhaps they should start being critical. I think Haberman is on to something. How else can you explain that not everybody is enthusiastic about Kamala Harris?

At least that is the take from the New York Times reporter who covers the Trump beat the most.

See? I am not joking. And I don't think she is either.

The really weird thing is that I don't doubt that she believes it. Unlike many of the people out there in the commentariat and the Establishment, I think most of the weird folks at The New York Times are fully indoctrinated into the anti-Trump cult of weirdos who believe that men in dresses are really women, children should have their genitals cut off, that five year-olds should be drag queens, and that Sam Brinton is just a normal dude.

This is the newsroom filled with hysterics who thought that Tom Cotton being published in the opinion pages would cause mass death among their number. They are a weird bunch, for sure. It's super weird. Deranged, you might say.

An actual "journalist" could say with a straight face that the most vilified person in America--the man that the Department of Justice, the New York Courts, and faux-lawyer Fani Willis have been attacking unfairly and relentlessly as every mainstream media outlet rakes him over the coals--hasn't had people making a case against him tells you everything your need to know.

These people are totally divorced from reality, or at least want their readers to be. It makes me feel "unsafe," as they would say. But since I am a White dude who missed the segregated calls to apologize for being alive by supporting Kamala Harris for president, my feelings don't matter.

Oddly enough, I don't actually think that Haberman is a liar as so many so-called "journalists" are. She is obviously intelligent, probably thoughtful, and no doubt thinks of herself as open-minded and objective.

She just lives in the reality of the Truman Show, in which it really can be said that Donald Trump hasn't had a case made against him in the past few years. It seems obvious to her, no doubt because the entire country hasn't bought the line that Donald Trump is Hitler-in-waiting. She probably buys all the hoaxes and believes that Fauci is a scientific genius and not a tyrannical fraud who helped pay for the gain-of-function research that created COVID-19.

That world is called "New York." It is a weird and often wonderful place, where everybody agrees that the most absurd things are true, everybody makes a ton of money but lives in 600 square foot apartments paying exorbitant rents, and looks down on the rubes who make this country work.

You may not have seen my last post from yesterday, but it gives you a flavor of how a New York Times reporter thinks

In a story about the election controversy and, by extension, the collapse of Venezuela, this explanation for the unrest was written as "news:"

If the election decision holds and Mr. Maduro remains in power, he will carry Chavismo, the country’s socialist-inspired movement, into its third decade in Venezuela. Founded by former President Hugo Chávez, Mr. Maduro’s mentor, the movement initially promised to lift millions out of poverty.

For a time it did. But in recent years, the socialist model has given way to brutal capitalism, economists say, with a small state-connected minority controlling much of the nation’s wealth.

Mr. Chávez swept to power in 1999 following a democratic election, vowing to remake a system led by a corrupt elite.

You read that right. Venezuela is a hellhole from which a third of the country's population has fled because of "brutal capitalism." Venezuela is a capitalist hellscape because, by definition, anything bad is capitalism, and anything good is socialism.

You can't make that up. They actually printed that, using the generic "experts" to inject this ridiculous notion into the story.

Maggie Haberman is just brainwashed, not the brainwasher. I think that is true, and it is by far the most generous interpretation of her tweet.

Otherwise, she is just insane or an evil liar, and I don't believe she is evil. I bet she is a decent person, although I don't know that for sure. I would like to think so, anyway.

So I go with her being brainwashed.
