Jake Tapper has apparently had enough. No more covering for Biden--at least that is what he is signaling here. 

He didn't use the term "gaslighting," but that is what he is describing in no uncertain terms. Watch:

Ouch. 

Tapper didn't just tell us what he thought; he is now challenging Biden surrogates to do more than repeat the same talking points and happy talk and justify their claims that Biden is competent to be the challenger to Trump this November. 

Tapper, it appears, is pissed. He didn't even accept Chris Coons' attempt to distract with the every-present "But Trump is a liar" line. 

"That's not the discussion, Senator."

The look on Tapper's face when Coons made the claim that Biden was ths strongest and most accomplished president in Coons' lifetime was remarkable. 

Exasperation, you could call it. It sure looked that way to me.

The basic problem the Democrats have is that the taboo of pointing out Biden's decline has been broken, and it won't just be clips from the debate that plague the Democrats for the next few months. 

Not only will they have to contend with all the disastrous videos to come, but there will likely be a retrospective look at videos that up until now, the MSM and the White House have labeled "cheap fakes." Everything is now open for exploration, up to and including comparisons of Biden's performances over the years, not just the last few months.

It won't just be the videos of Biden's flubs; there will be videos from a time that Biden was merely stupid but not yet demented, and the comparisons will put an exclamation point on how serious the decline has been and even the timeline in which it became apparent. 

The media has a problem they have to solve: their own credibility has been severely damaged, and part of the damage control will require them to throw Joe Biden under the bus. They will want to put the onus on the Biden people now that Slow Joe's decline is undeniable. 

That will require blaming others, and the Biden surrogates are the easiest target. 

This isn't just Tapper; you will see more and more mainstream media folks no longer denying Biden's decline, but rather shifting the blame for why it was covered up to the Democrats. 

"It wasn't us! It was them!" 

It's inevitable.
