The Gaslighting on the Border Is Next Level

As the Biden Administration is trying to sell to the American public the idea that the border crisis is Donald Trump's and the Republicans' fault, I thought it would be worth taking a moment to refresh our memories a bit.

While Joe Biden is, in a sense, correct that the illegal immigration problem has been developing for decades, even those with the meanest of intelligence at least vaguely know that the long-simmering problem became a crisis under Biden and because of Biden.

Proving, once again, that the MSM folks don't even meet that standard if they believe what they are saying. Which, to be fair, we all know they don't. They are midwits, not halfwits. They know they are lying.

Even though we all know that this disaster is Biden's fault, we must convince people that it was also Biden's plan all along. There is no innocent explanation for all the choices Biden made to get us here.

Biden even promised to make this happen. It's just that nobody believed he would do it. All his bloviating on immigration sounded like campaign promises intended to pander, because no sane person would actually do what Biden said he would.

Biden ran as the immigration radical in 2020, moving to the left of Bernie Sanders and going straight for the AOC vote. Just as he promised to create an energy crisis by destroying the oil companies--"shut them down," he said--he made extravagant promises about not just reversing Trump's policies but actually followed through once he got into office.

Shocking, I know, that a politician did what he promised. And while Biden is remarkably incompetent, he managed to follow through because breaking things is much easier than building or fixing them.

Even as the heat on the issue turned up, the Biden Administration stuck to its (lack of) guns and insisted that the border was closed and that they were enforcing the laws. By their lights, the border was secure, closed, controlled, or whatever euphemism they used for being exactly as they wanted it to be. Their definition of secure and closed were as precise as their definition of "woman."

The laws that Biden has proposed, and that he insists will resolve the border crisis, are all about opening the floodgates and making the importation of millions of migrants legal, not shutting down the massive inflow. He wants more money to make the process of turning illegal immigrants into legal ones. Unlimited, unvetted, and with new American papers.

He wants to destroy the current lawful immigration process and replace it with a regularized version of what we have today.

In other words, he wants to legalize what is currently illegal, not stop the unregulated flow of migrants.

Surge to the border, he said to everybody, and they have. Now, he wants to make this permanent.

Americans' memories are short because, in the modern world, so much happens so fast. In medieval times, you measured events by the years that wars, plagues, or famines happened. Otherwise things stayed pretty much the same for most people.

Today, we are bombarded constantly with information, so it's easy to forget if you aren't immersed in an issue. Who remembers campaign promises from years ago? That's why it makes sense to remind people that none of this was an accident. Biden planned it. Mayorkas executed the plan. And nothing Biden says today should get him off the hook.

I doubt the American people are buying what he is selling on immigration. Those chants of "the border is secure" are too recent and come too often to forget. But over the next few months, we will be bombarded with claims that Biden wants to fix things. So we should remind people, early and often.

When someone you know appears to start buying the Biden line, show them these videos.

This time, we can't let Biden skate.
