You may have heard that Joe Biden just issued an Executive Order creating a new Climate Corps–a program with the clear goal of creating a federally funded activist class. Tens of thousands of young people will be recruited to save Gaia, although nobody has a clear idea of what exactly they will be doing.

Getting federal dollars, that’s what. If anybody thinks that this is anything other than a strategy to organize activists to further the anticapitalist agenda they are terminally naive.

What is striking about Biden’s Executive Order, though, is not the goal. Biden has weaponized every power in the federal government he possibly could, so this is par for the course.

No, what is striking is that the Democrats tried to create a Climate Corps last year and the proposal was killed in Congress.

Congress killed the Climate Corps. Biden just created it out of thin air, contrary to the clear democratic will expressed by our representatives. There is no money, no legislative authorization, and a clear “No!” from Congress. And the president is doing it anyway.

Defenders of democracy, the Democrats are.

President Biden has presented a laundry list of Good Things™ these thousands of activists will do, not a single one of which has any funding from or approval of Congress. The government is already spending money implementing this–there is a website to sign up–and the media is applauding him for doing so.

WASHINGTON (AP) — After being thwarted by Congress, President Joe Biden will use his executive authority to create a New Deal-style American Climate Corps that will serve as a major green jobs training program.

In an announcement Wednesday, the White House said the program will employ more than 20,000 young adults who will build trails, plant trees, help install solar panels and do other work to boost conservation and help prevent catastrophic wildfires.

The climate corps had been proposed in early versions of the sweeping climate law approved last year but was jettisoned amid strong opposition from Republicans and concerns about cost.

What Biden is doing is, by any reasonable measure, flouting the will of Congress. He has zero authority to do this. None. Nada. Zip.

There is zero reason to believe that solar panels will start sprouting up around the country due to these activists. Appealing to people who think gluing themselves to paintings is doing the Lord’s work will do precisely zero to help anybody but the Democrat Party, which is the real goal.

We are past the point where there is any pretense that Democrats actually defend democracy. A clear No! from Congress means nothing. A lack of appropriations from Congress will just mean that Biden will take money from things Congress chose to fund and he will spend it on things they chose not to.

The Biden regime is utterly corrupt. The MSM, the Democrats in Congress, and a large chunk of the country are just fine with that.

Do we have a Constitution anymore? I wonder.
