Beau Biden, unlike his n’ere do well brother Hunter, honorably served as a reservist in the Delaware Army National Guard and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in Iraq. Beau died in 2015 following a battle with aggressive brain cancer, possibly related to that service.
Joe, though, apparently is under the impression that his son died in Iraq while serving.
I think we can all feel empathy for President Biden’s tragic losses over the years, and for the pride with which he honors his son. But that doesn’t prevent us from recognizing that Biden’s always tenuous connection to the truth–with reality itself–is now completely broken. He clearly has no idea what he is saying half the time, and the other half he is flat out lying.

It really is impossible to tell if Biden’s “gaffe” here is of the “brain has turned into oatmeal” variety or “Biden never tells the truth” variety.
But, as the sentient Biden would have said, “c’mon, man…” You can’t have the president of the United States celebrating the exploits of the 10th Mountain Division in World War II and throwing his son’s non-military death into the conversation with what amounts to a “stolen valor” story. Beau Biden served honorably. He was awarded a Bronze Star, which means something. Don’t diminish his bravery and that of the 10th Mountain Division by telling untruths.
Biden, speaking in Colorado, highlighted the role that Camp Hale played in training the famed 10th Mountain Division ahead of World War II.
“American soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division scaled that 1800-foot cliff, at night, caught the Germans by surprise, captured key positions, and broke through the Germans’ defensive line at a pivotal point in the war,” the president stated before mentioning Beau. “Just imagine — I mean it sincerely — I say this as a father of a man who won the Bronze Star, the conspicuous service medal, and lost his life in Iraq. Imagine the courage, the daring, and the genuine sacrifice — genuine sacrifice they all made.”
Joe Biden is an embarrassment as president, and has proven to be a danger to the country. He was never a good politician. He was never a good policy maker, or decision maker, or diplomat, or just about anything I can think of.
But now? He is a menace to the country, and to the world. He has his finger on the nuclear button. Or at least Ron Klain does.
