Kamala Harris is just not good at gaslighting–a necessary skill if you are Democrat politician or operative.

To be fair, Kamala Harris just isn’t that good at anything having to do with politics. When she ran for president she was the MSM favorite, but she was so bad at campaigning that she didn’t even make it to the first primary.

Her performance on Meet the Press this week was only notable because she made even Chuck Todd do a double take. While he let her ramble on about “election deniers” and “semi-fascists,” even he couldn’t quite stomach her claim that the US border is secure. With 2 million people crossing the border illegally this year it’s hard to see by what definition it could be termed “secure.”

CHUCK TODD:

Final topic here. Since we’re here in Texas, I want to ask you about the border. Would you call the border secure?

VICE PRES. KAMALA HARRIS:

I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do, the first request we made: pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship. The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.

CHUCK TODD:

We’re going to have two million people cross this border for the first time ever. You’re confident this border’s secure?

VICE PRES. KAMALA HARRIS:

We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration. But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years. We also have to put into place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship.

The look on Todd’s face when she claimed the border was secure was priceless. Nobody believes the border is secure because the border is not secure. And certainly nobody believes that the border is currently insecure because of Trump.

I am obviously biased, but I think Harris is the least convincing gaslighter in American politics. Successful gaslighters manage to create doubt about whether you are actually sane. Harris, on the other hand, makes you doubt your reality only when you agree with her. If she told me the sky was blue I would go outside to check, she is so unconvincing.

Harris isn’t the only person unable to connect with or convince average Americans. I am hard pressed to think of one A+ communicator on the Biden team. Some of that, of course, is that they are trying to sell a message that most Americans don’t want to buy, but most of it is because they are all second raters.

Biden would be in much more trouble if he didn’t have such a compliant press. They run interference — Bidensplain — and most importantly run interference for him by attacking Republicans incessantly.

Biden’s team may be terrible at gaslighting, but let’s face it, a lot of people in the MSM are excellent at it.
